It’s my first book review! 🙂 One of my very favorite things to do is to find a cozy spot, grab my blanket, light a candle, and dive into a new book. Reading is something that is very near and dear to my heart…maybe this is my inner teacher in me talking! Although it can sometimes be difficult to find time to read, one silver lining of this pandemic is that I’ve been able to find more time to read.
So grab a cup of coffee, and get ready for my first book review!
I started the month off with nothing other than with my favorite girl, Sadie Robertson!

For those of you who may not know Sadie Robertson, I’ll give you quick background. I first learned about Sadie while watching Dancing with the Stars. Watching her on DWTS, I was instantly drawn to her kindness which made me want to learn more about her! I think its pretty cool that she is my age, her commitment to Christ is inspiring, and I love that she always looks to enjoy the little things while being kind to others. So when her most recent book, Live, came out to say that I was excited to read it is an understatement! After reading Sadie’s book, I can definitely say that her book lived up to all of the excitement I had. Sadie’s book gives great encouragement, shares scripture, and offers amazing advice on how to live life to the fullest. It was also a super aesthetic book to read because there are colorful pictures and inspiring quotes weaved throughout the book as well :).
Reading Sadie’s book was such a breath of fresh air and such an encouraging read. Sadie’s words really resonated with me and I’ve even bought a copy for my sister! So if you are looking for an uplifting and happy read, this book is a must-read!!
The second book I read this month was Jasmine Guillroy’s Party of Two.

Jasmine Guillory is one of my favorite authors! So when I was walking through Barnes and Noble trying to decide which book to pick up, I headed straight for the Romance section and checked out the selection of Jasmine Guillory’s books. If you are looking for something cute, light, and predictable look no further 🙂 There hasn’t been a book of Jasmine Guillory’s that I haven’t enjoyed reading. Party of Two is about a hot senator, Max, and a new-to-town lawyer, Olivia, who happen to meet one day at a hotel bar. At first Olivia did not realize that she was talking to the most eligible bachelor in LA that night at the bar, but that one conversation was the beginning of a fun and exciting relationship full of ups and downs. The cute love story begins to unfold as Max and Olivia go on secret dates complete with disguises and all in an effort to not be seen by the paparazzi! As Max and Olivia’s relationship begins to progress, the pressure of the press and media begin to put a strain on their relationship. Will Max and Olivia be able to overcome this?! Will their relationship be able to withstand the test? Now, I don’t want to give all the details away 😉. But I will say that I thought the characters were well-developed, there was a little conflict which kept me wanting to keep turning every page, and I also loved the ending.
So that wraps up my book review for October! If you happened to read any of these books, let me know what you thought in the comments section below! And I am always looking for fun new books to read, so if you have any recommendations feel free to drop some book recommendations below as well 😊
